We went to Singapore to visit some friends, and check out the cleanest city in the world - where you get caned for spitting gum on the street, you can be fined for not flushing a public toilet and the mandatory punishment for drug trafficking is death. We spent four days in the city, got to do alot of different things. We spent one day in the Zoo, one day on the beach, one day visiting our friends at the university and relaxing in a Japanese Garden, and one day city sightseeing and cafe jumping.

Morten and Anders showed us the local ice cream from the stands by the river |
A Singapore ice cream is a cut block of ice cream pressed between to slices of bread. The sandwich is then wrapped in wax paper. Eat it fast, because it melts in a second.
Morten and Anders also showed us where to eat - the hawker centers. The hawker centers is Singapore“s answer to the food courts. There are stalls with all different types of food - Chinese, Indian, Thai, Vietnam, pizza, fast food. Its inexpensive and surprisingly good.
Try the Hainanese chicken rice, a primary specialty in Singapore.

Try the local cuisins on one of the many foodcourts. |

A random beach in Singapore

|
On the beach in Singapore. Not as clean and nice at it looks and the water is quit dirty and oily.
Skip the beach, go to Malaysia or Thailand for great beaches.
Singapore Zoo
We spent one entire day in Singapore Zoo, and when they closet, we were not tired and could go straight for the Night Safari.
Singapore Zoo is a world-famous zoo, which got no walls, no bars or screens. The zoo has a distinch lack of cages, to make it more natural.
