K O H   P H A N G A N

Koh Phangan is a small island on the east cost of Thailand. It is famous for its incredible fullmoon parties, and we figured we had to go! The party takes place on a beach on Koh Phangan island, and around 10 000 - 30 000 people join the party each month.

We stayed on the island for four days, and all we did was party, eat and relax on the beach.
Because of the popularity of these parties, we had pre booked four days at the hostel Gallery Dormitory.  We ended up sharing a room with mostly australians, we meet a great group of people, and had some of the best days of our trip here.
I would definitly recommend staying at Gallery Dorimitory or the Dancing Elephant. They both got a great location, a bit away from the beach (so you can get some sleep if you like), and the Gallery Dormitory got a bar which is a good place to preparty and meet people from both hostels.

We arrived at the beach a two nights before the fullmoon party, because we had heard a rumor that the prefull moon parties were even better than the real one. And we agree!
By arriving two days before, we got us a good group of friends, and got to join the pool party and the foam party - which are the pre fullmoon parties.

FULL MOON PARTY
The beach at the full moon party is packed with people, fire dancer, buckets stands, DJ´s, fire ropes and lots and lots of neon. And all the drinks on this beach are served in buckets.
There´s also burning jump ropes, fire poles and a fire slide on the beach. We stayed away from trying any of this, because we heard alot of people get hurt every year, and because we saw alot of people wandering around with bandages from burns.
