B E A C H E S,   H O N G   K O N G

Need a break from the city? Go to one of Hong Kong´s many beaches. These were mine favourits:

Shek O: The beach is often close to empty, and the water is clean and clear.
Right by the beach you can also find Happy Garden Restaurant, who got the best Thai food in town!!
Minus is that it takes to MTR changes, and 30min bus from central.
How to reach: Take the MTR to Shau Kei Wan, and then Minibus No 9 to Shek O.

Tai Long Wan: The beach is quite far away, and you need to hike to reach it. But it is definitly worth the trip! The water is close to crystal clear and the sand is white. There is to good, cheap restaurants close by, and you are almost alone on the beach.
How to reach: *Sai Kung Hike*. Take the bus or minibus from Diamond Hill or Choi Hung Mtr station.

Stanley beach: A nice, clean beach. Big plus is that its close to central and easy to reach by bus.
How to reach: Take bus nr 6, 6x, 6A, 66 or 260 from Queensway in front of Admiralty MTR station.

The beaches at Lamma Island. There are several beaches at Lamma island. I found Lo So Shing Beach the pretties. When you reach Lamma Island by boat, you first reach one small, more crowdy beach (Hung Shing Yeh Beach). Walk one-two hours more, and you´ll reach Lo So Shing Beach which is emptier and more beautiful. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a home made avocado sunset before heading back on a beautiful boat ride to Hong Kong, watching the sunset.
