Joyce Is Not Here, 44 peel street, Soho Central
The name "Joyce Is Not Here", came from the fact that the owner, Joyce, was never there.
The bar calles itself an "artist bar", and has many different theme nights from poetry reading, movie nights and open mic nights. It attractes a hip crowd of writers, musicians and modern bohemians with its atmosphere and interior. Everything in the bar is for sale, the menu is a CD, the drinks are cheap and the rumor has it that the beers are the coldest in town.

Sense 99, 2/F-3/F 99F Wellingtong Street, Central
Finding Sense 99 can be a bit of an experience, there is no signs and you have to know the adresse. Its a old shophouse with and old balcony, and you have to ring the bell and wait to be buzzed in. You get up some steep stairs, and into the first floor witch looks like a dining room with the bar in the kitchen and different tables and chairs as bartables. The second floor is like a young guys tv room with black tired leather couches and a little balcony to grab a smoke. The second floor also houses a drum set and other instruments that everyone can use, so in the evnings there is often a jam session between strangers.
Its open fridays and saturdays.

XXX, Basement, 212 Wing Lok Street, Sheung Wan
Look for a grungy metal door marked with XXX, and thats the entrance to this dodgy, underground basement. XXX has a fantastic sound system and got some of the best music in town. The walls are white concret walls and local and international DJs spin while you are dancing on the tired couches.
XXX does not have a liquor licence so load up drinks from the nearest seven eleven, and the toilets are outside a couple of doors down the street.
