A little guide over what I think you should see when visiting Hong Kong.

1. The Big Buddha
The statue is named Tian Tan Buddha, and can be found on Lantau Island.
The Buddha is 34meters high, and can be seen from Macau Island on a clear day.

2. Tai O Fishing Village
Tai O is a fishing town, located on the western side of Lantau Island. Its known for their traditional stilt houses and for being the"Venice in Hong Kong".
If your already visiting the Big Buddha, the village is only a short bus ride away, about 15 minutes. Spend a few hours walking around in the village and enjoy the pretty settings with the mountains and the harbour, and rent a small boat for a trip around the harbour and pink dolphin sightseeing.

3. Happy Valley
Almost every wednesday there are horseraces, where people gather for the exitement, gambling and for us, grab a beer. Happy Valley can accommodate up to 35 000 people, and entrance is only 10HKD.
Its easy to bet, and its easy to win! Check http://www.horseracing.com.hk/calendar.htm for racing dates.

4. The peak

Mong Kok is an area in Kowloon district, and has the highest popultation density in the world. So many people, markets, smells, food stands. The area has a ladies market, gold fish market, flower market, big shopping malls, chain stores like H&M, Nike and Adidas. You can find everything from a goldfish in a bag to Macbooks and the newest cameras.
Its a good ide to hear around where you get the real deal, and who is selling fakes. And ask for international garante.

6. Markets
There is a market for everything in Hong Kong. You can find ladies market, sports markets, antiwue markets, fish markets, flower markets... And many of them are in Mong Kok, or on Kowloon island. Buy a tourist map, and many of them will be highlighted on the map.
Definilty worth a trip is the gold fish market in Mong Kok, I´ve never seen that many goldfishes ever in my life!

Go search for korean goodies in the korean shopping mall on TST.. There are big malls like elements, etc etc that got the normal chain stores as Zara, H&M, Monki..

 8. Macau
Only one hour with boat from Hong Kong you find Macau. A gamling city with enormous hotels and casions, and the city is now raking in five times more money than Vegas, and theres still more under construction. They say that "Macau is not the Las Vegas of the East - las Vegas is the Macau of the West". You can find the worlds largest casino, and the fifth biggest building on the planet, the Macau Venetian.

Every evning there is a fantastic multimedia light shows with lights and lasers feautering 37 buildings on both sides of Victoria Harbor, its called "A Symphony of Light" and starts at 20.00 every evning. Go to Lamma Island for great seafood, a biketrip, beautiful beaches or a sunday hike.

15. Tai Long Wan, Sai Kung hike
Tai Long Wan is one of Hong Kongs finest beaches, and can only be reached by boat or hiking. The hike is about 12km long and takes about two hours one way, its a great hike which takes you through green mountains, turquoise reserrvoirs, and over two hills. From the top of the last hill you can glimpse the bright blue water in the end.
Finally reaching the idyllic beach overlooked by forested hills and turquoise water, it feels like your own private paradise.

To reach Sai Kung, you could take a bus or minibus from Diamond Hill or Choi Hung MTR stations; or - if you're travelling from Hong Kong Island - Hang Hau MTR station.

16. Cliff jumping at Shueng Luk Stream, Sai Kung
Go cliff jumping an eight-meter cliff close to Tai Long Wan.
There is two ways to get there.

-  A 10 minute cab ride from Sai Kung Town to the trails starting point at Sai Wan Pavilion. Follow the trails to Sai Wan beach. Go to the end of the beach, where you see a small "river" and a bridge crossing it. The "river" is the opening to Sheung Luk stream and the cliffs. Follow the streams on the left side, go through some bushes, and there you will see it.

-  You can also reach Sai Wan beach from Tai Long Wan. Follow the trails in the west end of the beach, and after 1,5 hours you will reach Sai Wan beach.
