Punta del Este is South Americas answer to St.Tropez. Its famous for its parties, yatchs and celebrities.
And ofcourse we were not big fans. It was to big and expensive for us backpackers.

If you want a nice beach town go to Punta del Diablo or Cabo Polonio which are both great!

Where to stay:
We stayed at Hostel Punta del Este because it was the cheapest in town. Ok hostel, cute courtyard and close to the beach.

How to get there:
From Buenos Aires: One hour boat to Colonio, and from Colonio a 3 hour bus. Cost: 500 Arg.pesos in total (600nok).
