Date: 08 - 18 march (incl Machu Picchu)
Cusco is a beautiful city in the south of Peru, and the city you go to before and after Machu Picchu.
We spent a week or so in Cusco, walking around, taking lots of pictures, shopped at the markets (we ended up sending 8 kilos home each, most of it lama stuff), ate at the many good restaurants and partied.
Cecilie turned 24 in Cusco, and lucky her celebrated her birthday alone (not completely alone, she made some friends) because me and Camilla were in bed with all different kind of deceases. lovely.

We shopped a lot in Cusco, and ended up sending 8kg home each. Go to the markets - mercado central, mercado San Blas and Artistical Mercado - for lama stuff, necklaces, rings etc.
Where to stay:
Pariwana hostel! Superchill hostel, great place to hang out and have a pre-party before crashing the bigger party hostels - wild rover, loki, the point.
How to get there:
From Lima: 21 hour bus from Lima, 100 soles (200nok). Go with Cruz del Sur!
From Lake Tititcaca: 16-20 hour bus from Copacabana (Lake Titicaca), Bolivia.
