G E O R G E T O W N

Georgetown is on UNESCOS list over inherieted cities, and should be visited. The city is known for its many temples, churches and mosques, and for its excellent indian and malaysian food. We stayed for two days, and since there´s not so much els besides sightseeing the old city and eating, that was good enough for us.
This is what we did:

Sightseeing
We spent some time walking around in the old city. Where we could see a new church, temple or mosque on every corner.

Little India
In the Market Street (Lebuh Pasar) with King Street and Queen Street, there are many Indian traders selling traditional indian wares, there is load Indian music in the streets and hawker stands selling spicy Indian food like roti canai and samosas. jum!

Day trip to a temple outside Georgetown
A small bustrip outside Georgetown there´s a huge temple. I don´t remember the name, but I´m sure its in Lonely Planet. It takes a hour or so to get there, and you can easily spend half a day walking around in this temple.

Where to eat:
We fell in love with this great indian restaurant called "Sri Ananda Bahwan" on 40 China Street. During our 1,5 days spend in Georgetown, we ate three out of five meals here. The food is amazing! We ate so much we had to lay down for several hours.

Another place is 50 gallery cafe. This cafe has a more Europeen vibe.

How to get there:
We took a direct bus from Perhentien Islands, booked a ticket on the island.
But you can also get here by bus from Kuala Lumpur, or from Singapore with a stop in KL.
