I´ve heard a lot of great things about Taiwan. Apparently they´ve got some of the worlds best hot springs, amazing jungle, great hiking, rocky mountains surrounded by crystal clear lakes, beautiful white beaches... the list goes on.
We found some cheap tickets during an evning class, and jumped on a plane the same evening.
On the plane we were super excited, we wanted to go to the beautiful beaches in the south! Or the wild mountains on the east cost! But sadly we ended up spending the weekend in the capital Taipeim because of the distance and the time it would take us to go to the other places.
Taipei is a cool enough city, but we did not find so much to do over three days. We sightsaw a bit, visited a national park and we went to a pool party. Honestly we got a bit bored, and for me one day would have been enough in Taipei.
If you´re planning to go to Taiwan, check out "Taroko Gorge" and "Hualien/ Suao Hualien Highway", - thats were we wanted to go and sadly missed!
Anyways, this is what we saw and did during our stay in Taipei:

Try Shabu Shabu. You get a pot of boiling water and some raw meat, vegetables, noodles, egg, spices etc and you make your own soup. Quite cool and tasty! |
