On our way to Uspallata and the beautiful Andes mountains. |
Uspallata is a small mountain town (2900moh), located two hours outside Mendoza, in the Andes mountains.
The landscape is amazing, and its a great area for some dayhikes and relaxing.
What to do:
Aconcagua
One day, two days, three days.... 17 days.
We wanted to hike to first basecamp - Confluencia - which is a 6 hour roundtrip from the parque entry. But because of bad weather, and the fact that we overslept the morningbus, we only made it to this sign. Which is only 20-30min walk from the parque entry.
But if you're ever in the area, definitly hike to the first base camp (3500moh), or you can also do second (or third) - Plaza Francia (4500moh) which is 2-3days hike, but then you need to buy a permit in Mendoza first.
Thats my plan when I'll go back to Uspallata!

Punta del Inca
We (of course) missed our bus back to Uspallata, and spend some ours in a small "town" called Punta del Inca.
On our way from parque Aconcagua to Punta del Inca (20min walk), we found this bus, and decided to kill some time here.

And this old railway
And in Punta del Inca, there is this famous bridge, which we took a picture of.
Around the hostel
The area around the hostel is great for a walk or climb some small mountains.
